Established in 2002 and recently relocated into expanded redeveloped premises, the DTC has pioneered the delivery of 4 year inter-disciplinary training programmes preparing a new generation of scientists for fundamental and interdisciplinary research at the interface between the mathematical, physical, biological and medical sciences.
- £150M direct funding from EPSRC, BBSRC, NERC, Wellcome Trust, MRC and EIT
- Relationships with a wide range of public and third sector organisations (>70) who collaborate with academic supervisors and programme managers to offer rotation and Dhil projects
- Relationships include 70+ Industrial Partners including GSK (Exclusive partner for TTPS), Exscientia, Lab Genius, AC Immune, Astra Zeneca, Reckitt Benckiser and Vernalis
- Over 500 supervisors drawn from over 40 departments across universities and partners
- Recently refurbished facilities at the DTC site 1-4 Keble Road. Multiple seminar and teaching rooms (adaptable for lectures and workshops) with a maximum capacity of 200 people. Open plan student offices across four floors including breakout space and 3 kitchenettes

- A unique learning environment where students are encouraged to discover their own style of learning
- During the first year each student will have a supervisor from the academic leadership of the IDLA. First-year supervisors will act as mentors throughout the four years providing academic and pastoral guidance.
